I'm going to be in Florence for one day tomorrow and would like to visit the Uffizi. Of course, on-line booking shows it as booked for the next two weeks! Any insider tips on how I might still get in? I am willing to pay extra for a guide or any other service that will get me into the museum. Thanks! Felix

Artviva do tours, start around midday. But they may be booked up - they limit their numbers on tours. I've not been to Florence in August so dont know how difficult this may be.

Have you asked your hotel to get you a reservation? They can often pull things out of the bag... nevertheless it is a little close for comfort...
