I’d love some suggestions for Udine, as it’s my first trip here and I came without plans!
We are planning to spend a week in Udine this fall, but haven't done serious restaurant research yet. However, I picked out a few places already just using my usual google on restaurants reviewed above 4.5 and then looking at the photos and menus to see if a place is the kind we like. So, take a look at Osteria Al Marinaio, Da Artico Osteria dal 1643, Osteria Ex Provinciali Udine, and the sandwich shop la Bettola. Let me know if you try any of them!
Thanks! I wimped out while walking around this evening, but had a delicious plate called Friulana (fried cheese and prosciutto di San Daniele) at a burger restaurant (Mezza Libbra) that also had Friulana and ribolla gialla vino. A great spot if you want to grab something casual.
Oh my, Da Artico Osteria dal 1643 is wonderful! I had a couple of local specialties and local wine and this lunch set me up for the day! Kind staff, too, and a place popular for families with young children.
