Uber from Fiumicino to Ascoli Pecino

Hi, experienced travelers. I was hoping someone might know the likelihood of success if I summon an Uber once I arrive at Fiumicino Airport to take five of us plus luggage to Ascoli Piceno which is about a three hour drive? I don’t want to do the driving myself and limo companies are more than twice the price. Thanks in advance!

An Uber Black would cost about 380 Euro, I have just checked. Are you saying that reputable companies like RomeCabs asked 700 Euro or more?

By the way it's 40 Euro only for gas and tolls and you are supposed to pay also for the driver's return journey, I doubt you'll find anyone doing it for less than 250.

And five with luggage (actually six) will require a large vehicle. You could be hard pressed to find a driver willing to commit to a seven hour trip. Train fare alone is about 250 euro so expect the driver to at least double that. Uber at 380 could be a good deal BUT make sure he can handle you and your luggage.

I just returned from AP and can't imagine not having a car in that area.
But I don't recommend driving three hours after a long flight either, so have you checked train schedules?

Have you asked your hotel ( or whatever) what they can recommend on how to get from FCO to the location?

Driving after an overnight flight is an engraved invitation for disaster ( my $0.02)

Thank you all so much! I'm actually expecting some info from the concierge at the hotel in Ascoli Piceno. I value all your suggestions and advice very much and will let you know what I decide!
