In the mid ‘70s there was a Navy presence on a very high hill on the western border of Naples, Italy. It was about 1 km north and west of the main ferry terminal. I used this landmark back then to orient to our hotel and restaurant, but it’s been a long time and that Naval station has moved. If anyone can recall the location, name or address of this station, please reply.
Bagnoli Agnano?
From the ferry terminal if you look up and slightly to your left, with the directions you gave,
Is a fort high on the hill in the Veromo neighborhood. This would be Castel Sant' Elmo.
You can see it from the water as you approach
the port of Molo Beverello.
Possibly Capodichino. There was a small navy presence there until 2004; naval security group detachment Naples.
