According to our Best of Italy in 17 days itinerary, after walking outside of Colosseum and within the Forum, the remainder of the the day is free. What's a reasonable time slot for traveling to, plus visiting the Galleria Borghese? Keeping in mind I'd like to also visit Santa Maria Vittoria church before regrouping for our final dinner together (near Reppublica metro).

You might check with the RS tour office but keep in mind the tours are not regimented nor exactly alike.

Are you staying at Hotel Aberdeen? Asking because that is where I stayed on my Best of Italy in 2022. There is a chance you could see the Ecstasy of Saint Teresa on your arrival day. It's very near Aberdeen, less than a 10 minute walk. DO be sure to check opening times as they are usually closed for a couple of hours after the Noon hour.
I agree to call and ask what time the office expects the walk to end and mention that you want to get tickets to the Borghese. In general I'd say you'd be OK with a 130 or 2P visit. You can only stay 2 hours. I walked from the Borghese and it took me less than half an hour. In fact, in looking at google (which lists the direct walk at 23 minutes) you can actually go by the Church of Santa Maria della Vittoria if the Aberdeen is your hotel.

Thanks Pam, yes, we're staying there.
I'd been pondering a 2 pm entry, so your recommendation helps a lot.
Great to know that the Ecstasy is only a 10 minute walk away!

It is just awesome! And you will have seen the Bernini's at Borghese so it will have even more impact.
My guess is you will gather for dinner at 6-630 so you'll have plenty of time to drop by Santa Maria della Vittorio on that last afternoon if you didn't have a chance to walk over there when you arrived.
BTW, if, on the first night in Rome, you are looking for something different, there is an Asian restaurant just a few doors down from Hotel Aberdeen. It's Ristorante Zonwa. On my tour we had some folks with Asian backgrounds (2 Vietnamese-Americans and 1 Chinese-American) and they loved it there. In fact they encouraged me to go on my extra night in Rome so I did and ran into one of them there.....again.....
