We will arrive in Milan Sunday AM, and are looking at spending 4 nights in Emilia Romagna, 5 nights in Tuscany, and 4 nights in Rome, before flying home Saturday AM. We will rent a car at MPX and drop it upon arrival in Rome. There are just two of us. A small standard transmission car is fine, but I'd like a trunk in order to better hide luggage on the days we are moving between hotels. Any specific car models we should ask for? We are thinking of spending the first two nights in a hill town south of Parma/ReggioEmilia and two nights in Bologna. Possible lodging includes Hotel Garden Vigano (Albinea), Il Convento dei Fiori di (Bologna), and molineventidue (Bologna). Does anyone have personal experience with any of these properties? Also, does anyone have any recommendations for prosciutto, parmigiano reggiano, and Balsamico di Modena tours or tour guides?
