MY wife and I like to stay in one location for 2 or more weeks, and we are retired so we have lots of flexibility. we'd like suggestions about an apartment/unit somewhere in tuscany,, preferably in a medium size village with character.l we will have a car. thanks, nicholas
We have spent four extended stays in the Chianti villages between Siena and Florence. We stayed in Panzano, Castellina and Radda. Recommend them highly!
We had an amazing one week stay at the Politian Apartments in Montepulciano a few years ago.
I am unable to find a website, even though there are reviews for this beautiful set of apartments on Tripadvisor etc. We originally booked directly. We actually stayed in "the annex" which was perfectly fine and included an outdoor terrace a few steps from our door. The furnishings were original. I have great memories of this place, and Montepulciano made such a good base we returned a few years later (to a place that paled in comparison, sadly).
Happy planning!
I think I found it! It's now called "stuart jaasmine" on Air bnb.
Here's the link (but they don't always work for this website, sometimes it takes you to the main page):

We spent a week at Agriturismo la Bruciata last summer. We had a car, so it was a very central location for exploring Cortona and Castiglione del Lago and other places in Umbria, from Montepulciano to Montalcino and even Siena in Tuscany and the Val d'Orcia. We even spent a day exploring the natural hot springs of Bagno Vignoni and Bagni San Filippo! The Agriturismo is just 3 miles outside of Montepulciano and we went to both the old town and the "new" town multiple times while we were there. Our lodging at the Agriturismo had the feel of a 1700's villa. So charming! And the views from the balconies? Breathtaking!
We also had a wonderful two week in Spello, Umbria.
