We've been staying for 7 nights in Taormina, and have added two days on to our itinerary. Should we stay in Catania or Syracusa [INVALID] any hotel ideas? Rick does not yet cover Sicily.

You can make day-trip to Catania's sites from Taromina (first and foremost Etna volcano). I'd take away 1 day from Taormina and stay 3 nights in Siracusa, sparing one day for a day-trip in the not-to-miss Val del Noto.

Definitely Siracusa, and in the old historic part, called Ortigia. Eyewitness has an excellent guide book on Sicily, by the way.

Do you have any hotel recs? We need to check out of our apartment in Taormina on Wednesday..........if I don't set something up [INVALID] I'm going to have to go to Rome and return to the US
