Two hrs enough time before flight at Malpensa

We are flying tomorrow on Delta partner Air France from MXP to CDG and then Delta to DTW.
We are checked in and are not checking bags. We plan on getting to the airport at 9am for an 11am flight.

We just returned to the states from Malpensa on Saturday. 2 hours is a good. We allowed 2.5 hours and we sailed through the lines with time left over. Having said that- it's good to check to see what is going on in Milan. It was fashion week when we flew in and that was another story. Safe travels. Enjoy your trip.

Thank you. I think we'll be fine. Taking the Malpensa Express from Cadorna station and our layover is at CDG. Am I right that since it's still in the Schengen zone we can go straight to our gate?

You may wish to read your second flight's airline's formal rules. THEY have a savage rule from the TSA about providing passenger information to the US government six or eight hours before your plane lands. That's why the number "3 hours " is almost universal. If you have not checked in at a large European airport before (I'm focusing on the hundreds of desks lined up, that are only electronically assigned to various airlines, not permanently assigned to them, with logos on the wall) you may not be anticipating the incredibly long lines for Economy check-in. Even in the US, you have surely gotten stuck behind clueless and huge families with piles of large bundles and luggage! Imagine 50 of those ahead of you.

2 hours is not enough time.

Hmmm. Thanks Tim. We are not checking bags. Does that make a difference in your opinion?

OP, your first flight is treated as a domestic flight, so 2 hours should be fine. Especially if you aren't checking bags and will have your boarding passes. As for CDG, how much time do you have there? Assuming you are booked on a single ticket and have boarding passes for the second flight, you still may have a change of terminals as well as going through exit Passport Control.

Two hours at MXP for a Schengen flight to CDG is more than sufficient. It's equivalent to a domestic flight in the US and Malpensa (which was built in 2000 to be the hub of the now defunct Alitalia) has more capacity than it is currently handling after Alitalia went under (and ITA Airways only has a handful of flights), so it is not as crowded as Rome FCO.

Your layover at CDG is way more than adequate. I rarely have more than 2 hours layover there and always made it comfortably. You shouldn't have any problem at all unless there is a major delay in your incoming flight.

Happy to report that we are through security at MXP. Early enough that we don't have a gate assignment yet.

A little late leaving Milan, but plenty of time to get to our gate for our CDG to DTW flight, even with waiting to get off the plane, going through passport control (virtually no line), stopping for a restroom break, etc. CDG is very quiet today where we are.(terminal K)
