Two full days staying at Positano - how best to use our time

We will be travelling from Orvieto to Pompeii, seeing Pompeii and then arriving at Positano, staying 3 nights before travelling to Rome. Just wondering what would be the best use of our time during our stay. We would like some time just to enjoy positano as well.

Positano is a great place just to relax. Nice beaches and beautiful scenery.

Ravello, Amalfi and Capri are easy day trips served by buses and the ferry. Sorrento is also close but was a bit too busy for me.

We were there about 3 years ago, and one of the nicest restaurants we went to was on top of the hill in Positano.
It was called Il Ritrovo. We went there for lunch.
A bus will drop you off right next to it.

We hiked up the hill to Montepertuso. Spectacular views!

Pam, we've been in Positano twice for 3-day visits, and the best thing to do is NOTHING. Just relax, lie on the beach, eat, drink, walk around, shop, etc. It's one of our favorite places on earth.

If you're a hiker, try the Path of the Gods, above Positano and the Amalfi Coast. It goes from Montepertuso to Bomerano. You can get a bus from Amalfi to Bomerano and a bus from Montepertuso to Positano to save yourself from the major elevation change. The hike is spectacular.

Besides what others have said you can take the ferry from Positano to Sorrento and enjoy the coastline. Wow.

Just got back from Amalfi Coast a week ago. We had a lovely time in Positano and took a 3 1/2 hour cooking lesson at a restaurant on the waterfront. Several offer classes and it was my niece and I and the staff. Or you can arrange through cookingvacations.com which was featured in the
April edition of National Georgraphic Traveler. We made a course, we ate a course and drank wine, then did it all over again. It was paradise. Enjoy!
