We wrap up a nice trip to Italy with a stay on the Amalfi Coast... We're still trying to figuring out what to do with a bonus of two-days and a night before we depart from Fiumicino. We will have already been in Rome. We could spend the time in Naples, but we're open to suggestions for some other unique, memorable experience. Our only requirement is getting to hotel at Fiumicino the night before our flight. Suggestions??

If will not have visited Naples, that is definitely a thing to do. If your hotel is in Sorrento, you might even be able to stay in the same hotel and visit Naples from Sorrento (it’s only one hour away by train). Pompeii is another choice which will keep you busy half day (located between Naples and Sorrento on the same Circumvesuviana train line.

Month of year? Car? Be sure to add up all the travel from AC to anywhere. Have you been to Tivoli? Caserta Palace?

Thanks for the input -- all great ideas! -- thus far. It'll be early June. No car. Transportation by train, boat or bus .
