Tuscany Wine Country Visit Advice

Hello!
This will be our first time staying in Tuscany and we plan on staying 3 nights in the Val d'Orcia area. We will have a car. Any recommendations on where to stay so that we can explore by day but be able to have what we need locally for dinner options, etc. at night. Just want to make sure we are in a great location, although it seems you can't go wrong.
Thanks everyone!

We like Pienza
Several hotels just outside the walls that offer parking
Town is flat, quiet and has several good restaurants

You will have to see what is still available with parking if your trip is coming up soon

Thanks for that! If anyone can recommend a place to stay that they enjoyed, I would love that.

Our first choice in Pienza is Piccolo Hotel del Valle- very basic, onsite secure parking, small rooms but you can’t beat the views. 2 min walk into town and a really good restaurant right next door- La Chiocciola
We’ve stayed there three times and eaten at that restaurant 5 or 6 times.

Other places that offer parking and are just outside the walls-
Hotel San Gregorio

Hotel Corsignano

Another just a bit outside of town but you can still walk into town-also great views
A440 in Tuscany

Don't know your dates but I would get on booking.com asap and see what is actually available- these places book up early.
Use the filters for parking, budget, AC etc
Read the reviews- they can be trusted because those can only be left by folks who have actually stayed at the property (unlike TripAdvisor)
You can book there or on the hotel website- your choice.

We loved staying in Siena! It's a beautiful city with the huge Piazza del Campo and a gorgeous cathedral. Wonderful for walking around and getting lost. Lots of excellent restaurant choices. We stayed at Hotel Palazzo Ravizza, located just inside the city walls. I chose this hotel because they have parking! We had a stunning view of the countryside from our hotel room. If you stay in Siena or visit for a day, I can highly recommend Trattoria Nona Gina, where we had one of our favorite meals of our trip.

We visited Pienza, another beautiful hilltop town. I agree that Pienza would be a lovely place to stay, too.

I agree that Siena is wonderful and so is Palazzo Ravizza
Siena itself deserves at least a day and night
The evenings there are enchanting once all the daytrippers are gone (it can be quite busy and crowded during the day)
It is a small city, not the Tuscan village/small town atmosphere I think OP is looking for.

Siena is not in the Val d’Orcia region-it’s a good hour drive from there to Pienza and a bit of a pain driving in and out of
