Tuscany Villages by train?

I'll be arriving at Rome airport and hope to take a train to the Tuscan countryside soon after. Any suggestions of villages accessible by train and offering B&B accommodations? I don't want to rent a car but want to get out of the bigger cities. Possible?

Possible? Definitely. Although many are only accessible by bus. In many cases the villages are hill towns, so the train station is some distance from the town by local bus or furnicular. Try Orvieto, Assisi, Cortona, Lucca, and Siena as towns that are fairly easy to get to by train.

Barb,

One method you might use would be to travel directly from the Airport to Orvieto (via Roma Termini) and spend a few days there getting over jet lag. It's only about an hour or so by train from Roma Termini, so will be an easy trip after a long international flight. It's a beautiful and historic Umbrian hill town and you go from there to Assisi, Cortona, Siena or other hill towns.
