Looking for recommendations for a place in Tuscany, not to far from Florence? We may have a car, may use a private driver, so I want to keep the distance not to far?? A 3-4 day stay, then traveling back to Florence for Train to Rome.
Any suggestions would be great!!

Many people will just pick a rental car up as they leave Florence and head south 30-45 minutes into the Tuscan countryside. We rented through AutoEurope.com and picked our car up on Sansovino at the Hertz dealership after a 2 mile taxi ride from the train station. They gave us directions to get out of town without getting close to the ZTL's.
Virtually every farm in the region has rooms and apartments for rent. They can be found online easily, on Booking.com or Agriturismo.com. I think of villas for a bunch of people to rent--preferably with a cook included.
The region's roads are well paved and it's easy to travel from hilltown to hilltown. We hit Siena, Certaldo, San Gimignano and Volterra. Our farm stay was between Certaldo and San Gimignano.
May's a great month to go--before it gets too hot. Have a great time.
