Tuscany villa location

This is not exactly what you are looking for but I am going to highly recommend a location we stayed at last month anyhow. The place is called Le Manzinaie and is run by Fiore, Marzia and their daughter Alice, three of the nicest people you will meet in Italy. They have several apartments to stay in and I think they have one that will be large enough for 6 to 8 people. They also have a nice swimming pool on the grounds They are clean and nicely furnished. Their villa is located about halfway between Cortona and Montepulciano but is not within walking distance of any small village although there are three that are only a few minutes drive away. If you want to go anywhere or ask for suggestions, like places to hike, Alice (a university student) will provide you with suggestions and detailed directions on how to get there (and back). Look at the reviews in Trip Advisor, which are almost all highly positive. They made our stay in Tuscany the highlight of a four week trip to Italy. http://www.lemanzinaie.it/

I recommend Villa Pecille in Panzano. (I have stayed here twice) It is a wonderful agriturismo located at the edge of the picturesque town of Panzano. It is an easy walk into town to purchase groceries and to enjoy any of the fabulous restaurants. Panzano is located halfway between Florence and Siena. It is home to the famous butcher, Dario Cecchini. He has 2 restaurants that are wonderful. Villa Pecille is composed of several apartments that may work for your group.
