Tuscany tour of hill towns

I want to visit the small towns in Tuscany and we have 1 night and 2 days to do it. I want to avoid renting a car. Can you recommend an affordable/trustworthy tour? We would love to do some wine tasting on the tour.

If riding a bike is not out of the question, go to tuscany-biketours.com

They pick you up in Florence at 10, drive you out to the country (Castello Poppiano), tour the winery and castle, taste their wines and olive oil, bike to a farmhouse restaurant for an included lunch with wine, bike back to the castle, then bring you back to Florence by 5. It's not too strenous (My wife and I are in our 50s and handled it just fine). Your hosts are two young guys from England and a Southern California girl.

We had a wonderful experience just two weeks ago with Accidental Tourist out of Florence. They have several options listed on their website, but we signed up for the Sunset Stroll which leaves Florence about 3:30 and heads out to a winery for a wine tasting. We then went to a farmhouse where the lady of the house prepared a delicious multi-course dinner as we sat in her kitchen and visited with her and her husband. After a long day of museums, it was so relaxing to be in the countryside for a quiet evening. They keep the group small, no more than 8, I think, so it was like being at a dinner party.

We had many wonderful experiences during our nearly 3 weeks, but continue to list that evening as one of the highlights of our trip.

Kate,

We booked a day trip to Siena and San Gimignano through expedia.com. It was a very nice tour.

We just returned from our trip in June. We booked a cooking class with Accidental tourist. They picked us up in Florence, drove about 30 minutes out of the city to the most picturesque countryside to a quaint farmhouse where we learned to make pasta. Then our pasta was taken by the homeowner who cooked a fabulous meal for us and others who were there for the hike. They have several different options including winery tours, hikes, picnics, etc.
