Tuscany tour for vegan?

My daughter is visiting Italy with her husband in Italy, and want to tour Tuscany from Florence (day or overnight stay) but need to find a tour operator who can arrange vegan food (my daughter has a dairy allergy). They are interested in wine tasting and general sightseeing.
Any suggestions? Many thanks in advance!

If she likes wine tasting in the gorgeous Chianti area, I recommend touring Dario Cecchini in Panzano. His specialty is “Bistecca Alla Fiorentina”, a local specialty absolutely dairy free and also gluten free.

Robert's answer actually brings up an important point. Is your daughter actually vegan, or just allergic to dairy (but can eat non-dairy items like meat and fish?).

If she's just allergic to dairy, she will have a much easier time, as many dishes are not traditionally made with dairy; bistecca alla Fiorentina is just one of them.

Thanks for your replies! I found out there's a site called Happy Cow, where she can locate restaurants that'll be ok for her. It's just a matter of finding time during tours to visit one of these places. She doesn't eat beef or pork, but can eat chicken or fish. But when traveling to a new place, because the allergy can be life threatening, she finds it's safer to keep it vegan because of the risk of cross contamination.

Gerri, many thanks for the allergy card.
