My wife and I are going to Italy and part of itinerary will be Tuscany for 4 nights. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help, Ross
My first suggestion is that you pick up a copy of the RS Florence/Tuscany 2012 book so you can see Rick's take on this region and look for those things that you in particular find attractive. Or at least poke around on this site starting here. Also helpful information to post here would be the time of year you'll be there along with the sorts of things you're hoping to be able to see and do (wine, art, hiking, biking, cafes, etc.). If you're hoping for specific lodging suggestions, be sure to say what your budget would be in euros. Good luck.
will you have a car of be using public transportation?
Ross, Depending on your interests and what you hope to see, either Florence or Siena would be good choices (or split the time between them). Florence would be better if you're primarily interested in Museums and Renaissance art. Siena would be better if you're interested in touring nearby hill towns or wineries and enjoying the ambience of a smaller city (which is especially pleasant at night when all the "day trippers" have left). Buon Viaggio!
