Tuscany: Suggesitons for home base locations

Planning a relatively short trip to Tuscany in the fall of 2025. We've been there before but we want to go back to relax, enjoy and explore the area once again. I was thinking it would be fun to stay in 2 different home base locations, 4 night in each location. My thoughts were to fly into Florence or maybe Pisa, pick up a rental car and go from there. I was thinking that perhaps we'd stay in Corona for 4 nights or another small town or village in that area, then up to Lucca for 4 night. While in Lucca we'd spend a day in Pisa, maybe a train trip and a long day out to the Cinque Terre, of course explore Lucca maybe Volterra and perhaps San Gimiginano (which we love but heard it's gotten very busy with tourists) I heard that it's Italy's Jubilee and that the country will be overrun by tourists, thoughts on that ? Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It's been suggested that the towns of Pienza, Montepalciano or Montaicino may be good home bases,

I think you mean Cortona? We used it as a base for eastern Tuscany and Western Umbria. We stayed at Il Falconiere in the vineyards below
Cortona. Cortona worked well for us.
We have stayed all over Tuscany but Lucca works well as does Siena and the adjacent Chianti villages; several are favorites of ours.
