Can someone please suggest a road trip, starting in Florence, driving through Tuscany and parts of Umbria and back up on our way to the Dolomites.. Do not want any tours, just driving, scenery and small towns. Will come to suggested Dolomite rte,s later. This would just be the Tuscany/Umbria part. Will do this over 10days. Thank you for any advice. You guys do a great job

Tuscany , Start in Siena and explore the Chianti villages on SS 222. Then drive down past Montepulciano and Pienza, then over to Umbria. Visit Perugia( city), Bevagna, Montefalco, Norcia and charming Spello. Stay in Spello.

From Florence get on the SR222 Chiantigiana Road and drive to Siena. From Siena get on the Sienese Crest Road to Montepulciano. From Montepulciano drive to Orvieto. From Orvieto drive to Assisi. From Assisi drive back to Florence.
