We're going to Italy in August for 12 days with another family (4 teenagers total). We're flying in and out of Rome. Our plan is to spend a week or so in Tuscany and then 4 days in Rome. Any suggestions for:
---Area of Tuscany to use as a "home base" for exploring?
---Suggestions for areas that have "outdoor" activities - hiking, biking, rafting, etc., Ideas for things more interesting to teenagers than museums (small doses)?
-- Any suggestions about agroturism options in Tuscany (with pool)? or apartments in Rome?
--Any suggestions for guides in Rome?
