Tuscany Region in February

Where is the best place to stay/visit in February in the Tuscany region. I am a 50-something woman alone coming from a retreat. Usually I travel with my husband. I fly into Florence and will have a couple of days there. The retreat is in Barga (near Lucca). I have 3 or so days available. I have visited Lucca and Pisa before in the spring (more favorable weather). Also, we love Cinque Terre, but I've read that this is not a good time of the year to visit. I fly out of Bologna, and plan on spending a day there.....probably an eating/drinking tour. Any thoughts or ideas of where to spend some time in the Tuscany region in February? Thanks in advance for all your help.

Congrats on your upcoming trip, Denise! Both my trips to that region have been in late February/early March. Have you considered staying in Florence with options to do day trips from Florence? Fiesole, Prato, Pistoia, Siena, and more are all nearby within a short bus or train ride away.

Or stay in Bologna and do day trips from there - Modena, Padua, Ferrara, even Ravenna, though it's a little longer on the train.
