It is pretty easy to do yourself. Start with RS Best of Tuscany driving tour and then expand it to your further interests. The recommended tour can easily fill a day if you do all the stops. Plan your trip around a day La Foce Gardens are available to tour and make a reservation. Montepulciano and Montalcino provide good bases and plenty of photography opportunities (and wine). A wander to Asciano, Abbey di Monte Oliveto Maggiore and the Crete Senesi are not terribly far, or Cortona or even into Chianti. The weather in October is superb.
I took a photography tour in Italy a number of years ago and really enjoyed it. It was based in the Val d'Orcia area. However, I don't think that the tour I took is still operating.
You should be able to find lots of tours by doing a search. Perhaps this one would work for you - https://www.tuscanyphotographytours.com/tours/ .
I used to have loose contact to a German who moved to Tuscany several years ago. I know he is a very good photographer - please check out his Tuscany countryside pictures: https://www.andreaskrappweis.com/galerie/landschaft/toscana/
I know he is offering lessons as well and maybe when you contact him he would be able to help you: [email protected]
Schteffi: I only wish I planned on having a car. The RS driving tours would be perfect - I thought the same when I read it.
I need someone with a car that knows the areas for photos, though it sounds like the entire area is quite spectacular! Thanks.
Ken: I reached out to that same group, and a couple of others. I was relying on my trusted RS travelers for personal recommendations beyond my internet search. This group looks fabulous, though were booked for my time.
Mignon: That photographer's work is beautiful. The website content is very dated...he may no longer be very active in Tuscany. I bookmarked it for the future when I hope to go to Germany, where he may be based :)
This is a great group. Thank you all!
I know for sure that he is still in Tuscany and not in Germany. He is busy getting his Agriturismo ready. But of course up to you to send a mail :-)
Thank you. Mignon! I'll write.
