we will staying in Tuscany for only 2 nights. any suggestions on lodging?
I suggest Siena as a good base. Great town itself and short bus rides in and out of Siena to surrounding Tuscany. We stayed at Hotel Cannon d'Oro
it is in Ricks books.Centrally located an excellent rates. [email protected]
If you are traveling by train, you may want to check out the Casa Toscana B&B in Chiusi. The trains from everywhere stop in Chiusi, and its a quick trip to Sienna. Chiusi is a very authentic little town, and has a rich history with Etruscan catacombs. It's real Italy with nightly promanades and school kids walk by your window each morning. The Inn when (we stayed two years ago) was great! The best restaurant we found is called La Solita Zuppa, and is also in Chiusi. In May we are staying in Sienna for a change of scenery, but will take a train just to go to this restaurant. Find out more about Casa Toscana at initaly.com
