Can you describe the differences, if any, of the weather (heat) and crowds for Tuscany (say, Sienna, Montalcino) in mid-June versus mid-July?
Assume you must visit in June, July, or August (and can only dream of other months of the year).

both are VERY HOT. Think April May or September October
Kids in Europe are still in school in June = less crowds
You can definitely go in other months! Sept and Oct will be quite busy with the harvest. We went in July once and while PMs are hot, mornings were lovely and the wineries were quiet since they are growing, not harvesting and making wine. Montalcino is our favorite town and it was quiet in early July.
Given the options of June July or August, I would do June. A bit less hot--- not sure I would say "cooler"
You must be a teacher or traveling with kids who are in school.
In the locations you mentioned, crowds would be similar in either month. If you go to seaside beach locations, then July will be more crowded.
In a normal year, heat should be more bearable in June, especially early June. July is the hottest month of the year, and is generally miserable.
June is one of the prettiest months because of spring colors. July and August are the perfect months to enjoy a villa's pool.
