Tuscany - itinerary help

Hi everyone, I am planning to visit Italy for six and a half days. I have planned the itinerary but would like to ask someone weather its possible to visit everything what i have planned as the schedule is pretty tight. We arrive at Pisa at 11PM and we stay there for a night. The next day is the first day of our trip. Day 1: Renting a car in Pisa and driving straight to -> Volterra -> San Gimigniano -> Monteriggioni -> stay overnight in Siena Day 2: Siena -> Montepulciano -> staying overnight in Cortona
Day 3: From Cortona driving to a vineyard in Greve in Chianti. After that, we drive to Florence and stay there overnight Day 4: Florence Day 5 Florence -> Lucca -> Carrara -> staying overnight in La Spezia Day 6: La Spezia -> Riomaggiore -> Cinque Terre. Might sleep in La Spezia or Pisa. Day 7: sightseeing Pisa and departing from Pisa at 5:40PM. Would really appreciate any help, opinions or ideas regarding the above schedule. Michael

We were in Italy for 27 days and didn't see as much as you plan to. Personally I feel to get the flavor of a village/ town you need to spend at least a day or two overnight.

When staying in Florence in March 2011, we hired a private guide with car to do a day trip which was basically what you propose for your Day 1 itinerary (our order was: Florence > San Gimignano > Volterra > Monteriggioni > Siena > Florence). It was a long day (10 hr) but certainly doable. We spent approximately 1 hr in San Gimignano, 4 hr in Volterra (where we walked around, visted the major sites, and had a great pizza at Il Poggio, which is just around the corner from the city hall), 1 hr in Monteriggioni, and 2 hr in Siena (spent mainly in the Duomo and Il Campo). My only suggestion is to somehow work a second day in your itinerary for Florence - we were there 4 days and still did not see everything we wanted. Pisa ('Fild of Miracles') can be easily seen in 3 hr, including climbing the Leaning Tower).

Thanks for your help guys. As you have said Robert, I believe we should be fine with the first day. Also, I have left Pisa for the last half day - those 5-6 hours should be enough for sightseeing in there. As to day two - I might think of re-arranging the things. Might be sleeping in vineyard instead. It will be closer to Florence and give us more time next day in the morning. Anyway, thanks for your help.
