Tuscany Italy

In your book "Florence & Tuscany" you describe certain restaurants as "dressy and ...." Are you using the term "dressy" as a description of the decor or that you should dress more formally?

Are you asking Rick this question? Rick doesnt answer the questions here. The questions are answered by travelers who share their knowledge. Maybe if you give the name of a specific restaurant someone who has been there can answer your question.

Mike, I've also seen those references in the Guidebooks and read that to indicate the places are a bit more "posh" so showing up in shorts, an old T-shirt and Flip-Flops wouldn't be as appropriate. I've found that many restaurants that I've dined at in various parts of Tuscany are fine with normal "street clothes". That's normally what I wear, and have never had any issues even in more "upscale" places. Where are you visiting in Tuscany? Happy travels!
