Tuscany -- Dining in Greve in Chianti

Building upon Kevin's question and Kent's reply, perhaps you can give me some nice, reasonably priced, within walking distance dining spots in Greve in Chianti? All recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Greve is a small place. The closest restaurants I know are 4.5km/3mi away from the village center, not within walking distance. Let me know if you want those.

Certainly! I thought that might be the case, but your recommendations will be most helpful to me. And we will be sure to appoint a designated driver for our longer dinner journeys so do not worry about sending us too far from Greve.

This is the closest recommended restaurant to Greve, it's not cheap, look at the price range: click hereI haven't eaten there but Michelin likes it (a recommendation from me would be meaningless anyway because I only know what I like but am not a connoiseur.)It's on a country road, at night coming back would be good if you had a GPS.

I can't remeber the name of this place, but we had luch there in March 2007 and enjoyed the food immensely. It's small and typical Tuscan fare.

If you go to Piazza Matteotti (the main square) , you will find Antica Macelleria Falorni (a butcher shop with wonderful stuff). Standing in front, facing the shop, go down that side of the piazza to your right. The osteria is down close to the corner of the piazza on the same side as the butcher shop. Very casual and excellent food, maybe 8-10 tables. Across the piazza is a ristorante, more formal and larger but we did not eat there.
