Tuscany day trip(s) from Florence without a car

We'll be staying in Florence for 5 nights and I'm wondering what day trips people would recommend without a car. My daughters really want to see Cinque Terre, and it looks like Siena, Lucca etc. would be worthwhile. And what would be the best ways to get around? Thanks!

You can do a day trip to the Cinque Terre by train, but be prepared for an early start and a long day.

Take a taxi to.

Firenze Campo di Marte> La Spezia.
7:36-9:11. Then transfer to the regional train or the Cinque Terre Express. Travel time ranges
8-28 minutes dependent on village.

Return. La Spezia-Firenze Campo di Marte.
20:03-21:40.

This gives you time to explore all 5 villages.

Also, consider the multitude of mini-van day-trip tours that originate from Florence where you can enjoy a wine tour, a cooking class tour, etc. to Montepulciano or similar without worrying about transportation.

Siena is an easy day trip, best done by bus. Lucca and Pisa can be combined into one day trip, best done by train (although bus between Pisa's Field of Miracles and Lucca is also an option). Be careful not to schedule so many day trips that you cut your time in Florence short. There's lots to do and see in Florence.
