Tuscany Day Trip

Good morning, after researching for 2 hours I decided to ask the experts!!! We would like to plan a day trip to see Tuscany while we are in Florence this summer. We are traveling with a 16 and 20 year old. My husband and I are interested in doing a day trip in Tuscany and seeing the countryside and getting out of town, seeing wineries, having dinner/lunch at a winery etc. We have friends who rave about these trips but are trying to combine that with something also appealing to the kids. Is it possible. Our daughter is into the castle/winery/wine tour and since we aren't leaving the 16 year old behind I'm trying to find a balance. I thought about going via Vespa? Ideas are very welcome and needed!!! Also I'm not a huge fan of being on a tour with a whole bus load of people, more private/small group is better. so hoping you all can help as you have been my guides!

Try Tours by Roberto. They have a wine-culture-history day tour in Tuscany, 8 or 9 people in a van. They also may customize something for you, if you ask.

Consider contacting KM Zero Tours (http://www.kmzerotours.com/). It's run by a young couple, Alessio and Arianna who are super nice and very passionate about Tuscany. We did 2 private day trips with them. Tell them your interests and see if they can customize a day for your family.

Took a day tour with Hills and Roads. Angela was fabulous and they will tailor the tour for you. They are flexible as to time and places. They have 6 hr minimum. We spent 11 hours. Our choice. Can't recommend it highly enough. Definitely a highlight of our trip. Worth every euro.
