Hi, My husband and I are trying to decide the best way for us to cover the tuscan coutryside. We will be there from April 23 - 26 (over Easter, for 3 nights). Ideally, we will rent a car and explore some of the towns, and we are specifically interested in seeing the Chianti region, Siena, San Gimignano, and Montepulciano (and possibly Volterra). I would really appreciate any suggestions on where the best places to stay are - I am looking for the countryside experience, but also it needs to be economical, and somewhere that is easy to travel to the above places. Bonus if by wineries, or also any suggestions on wine tours or wineries to visit would be appreciated! Also, with a restaurant, and ideally less than 100 euro a night... does this dream place exist??? Thanks in advance for advice and suggestions!
