Seeking advice on car rentals for our Tuscany trip in October. We are flying into Genoa to visit family for a few days. After, we plan to take the train to Lucca and pick up a car for touring around Tuscany. We'd like to drop the car off in or near Florence which is the last part of our trip. Questions - 1) What's the best place to pick up a car rental in Lucca? (Most of my searches say to pick up at Pisa airport, but we aren't planning to stop in Pisa). 2) Instead, should we consider picking up the car in Genoa and driving to Lucca? Our hotel does have on site parking. 3) Where should we drop the car in or near Florence? We'll be staying at an agriturismo before heading to Florence. 4) Looking at Europecar or Sixt or using Auto Europe to book the car, if you have good experience with any of these, I appreciate the input. Thanks!
We rented thru AutoEurope and picked up our Avis rental at Florence airport
We dropped off at the Avis office in Lucca -that was very easy. Outside the wall so I imagine picking up there would be just as easy.
Dropping off at Florence train station locations should be easy as well
There are directions posted here on how to do that
We have used AutoEurope many times In multiple countries
Always excellent service
Here are e Roberto’s directions
There may be a more recent post you’ll have to search
