Tuscany at end of September

I found a great flight price to Italy toward the end of September. We want to visit Tuscany but I am wondering what the scenery will be like so close to Fall. Will Tuscany still be beautiful?

Will Tuscany still be beautiful?

My supposition is: Yes ----- But, it will have a different look than it does in April or June

Tuscany is lovely in September. Our favorite season. The weather should be moderate and
fine for touring.

Love Tuscany in the fall! Been there several times. Weather generally lovely, with the added bonus of many harvest festivals (Sagre) dedicated to crops being harvested.

Just don't expect fall colors - those are more likely in mid to late October

You mentioned fall colors and I'm glad-although I love Fall I really would rather see Tuscany in all its Summer glory!

I originally checked for a departure from EWR on 9.17 to FCO, and returning on 9.28, through Norwegian. (Use Skytrax to research airlines-Norwegian has a high ranking). The price for the outbound trip, Economy, was $29490, and the return trip was $334.90. I think I will have to add baggage fees though, and they seem to be at least $100 for each checked bag, so that would add $200 to both the outbound trip and the return trip.

Here is the link, I hope it works: Round Trip Norwegian

hey stayclose
looked at your airfare. i think you can do better. they want $160 for one checked bag (X2) OMG. about $75 for seat (X2) adding it all up is pretty close to $900 for one person R/T. i'd look around, check fareboom.com, kayak.com, and others. look at times of arrival and departures (not too early for check in unless ok, ungodly early morning departure) how many layovers and how long. i just did NYC airports and whatever came up, plus you're still in the shoulder season. Just putting my 3 cents.

Fall is a lovely time to visit. It likely won't be hot, for one thing. I went in late September and we visited a winery that was harvesting and pressing grapes. The olives were fat and preparations were beginning for their harvest. I think fall and spring are the perfect times to travel to Italy.

Fall in Tuscany is beautiful. Done it many times. Grape harvest in full effect and the weather is mild. Not as green as spring but nonetheless beautiful.

enjoy
