Hi there,
Looking for recommendations for accommodations in late June for 3 nights in Tuscany for a family of 4 with 2 teens. We'd like to experience the culture and have opportunities for wine tasting and vineyard tour on site. Would like beautiful setting with views, stunning vistas, a pool is a plus. We'd prefer one room with 2 double or queen beds, not a pull out sofa. Suite would be great if it's not too pricey. Please let me know if you've stayed somewhere like this that you love!
It sounds like you're thinking of an agriturismo stay at a rural style of accommodation, but some clarification would be helpful.
- Are you planning on having a car? Most rural agriturismo stays pretty much require a car - some will shuttle you to and from the airport or train station but that limits your selection.
- You should also list a budget you are comfortable with and a month of the year would also be good information.
- And you might narrow down what you mean by "Tuscany" since it is about the same size as the state of Vermont.
Usually people are looking for a specific area, but if you are really open to anywhere I would search the previous posts in the forum and just browse the places suggested by others. There are agencies that do nothing but agriturismo rentals but it is always great to have a recommendation.
Good luck,
=Tod
A good place to start you research is Booking.com
They list agritusmos, villas, etc
Use the filters for location, budget, #beds/rooms, amenities
You can trust the reviews there as those can only be left by actual customers
You can filter the reviews as well
Book there or find the actual website
Also check the official agriturismo site

We stayed at the Hotel Belvedere di San Leonino on the RS Village Italy tour outside of Siena. It was very nice in the middle of vineyards with a swimming pool. I would go back on our own in fact we are on their mailing list for their wine.
Thank you for your time in asking for clarification! We are open to any suggestions south of Florence. Our priority is to find a stellar accommodation first, then we will determine if we need a car, etc. I have already searched via internet platforms like Trip Advisor and Booking but would love a first-hand recommendation from a recent stay here as well. Searching the previous postings has yielded a few on my list but thought I'd see if there are any others that fit. Thank you!
A little over ten years ago, we stayed for almost a week at "Borgo Mariano" (https://www.decimo.it/en/estate/borgo) in the countryside just outside the village of Castel San Gimignano, about 30 minutes drive to San Gimignano. This "villa" had various apartment options, with a nice big pool and dinner restaurant on the site, and nice countryside views and walking opportunities. I can't recall if there were vineyards and wine tasting on site, but certainly there are opportunities in the surrounding area. We were three couples, and our three-bedroom apartment had two full bathrooms, a living room and kitchen - the price was very reasonable. We made our own breakfasts in our apartment, and we had some dinners at the restaurant on-site (it was excellent). There are also one or two restaurants nearby in Castel San Gimignano, but we never tried them. You definitely need a car if you stay here. We did trips to visit Florence, Sienna, San Gimignano, Volterra, and Monteriggioni, I should mention that there is an associated property "Villa Dini" nearby, which is more expensive and is where you go to check in (at least that was the case when we were there).
