Tuscany accommodations?

Looking for personal recommendations on farmhouses or B& B for a week's stay next June. Traveling with an 8 yr old boy. Overwhelmed with all the choices! Thanks for any ideas...I really need your help!

Chrissie,
I think more information is required. What area do you want to stay in? or what do you want to see and do? or what are your interests? It would be helpful to know whether you plan on renting a car.

Tuscany is a big area.

Here are some specifics:
Area of preference: Siena (would consider others)
Renting car: yes
Would like to visit vineyards, explore some of the towns w/in an hour's drive or so.
Accommodations need an outdoor pool and tv in room (for son).
Also would like an opportunity for horseback riding.
Thanks for any suggestions!

Chrissie - try Il Palagio in Panzano (www.infochianti.com) located exactly between Siena and Florence on S222 (the Chianti Road). It is wonderful. We've stayed there a couple of times and we are headed back in a few weeks. In 2004 we had our 8 yr old with us and he is still talking about it. Very clean, beautiful hillside setting, close to many Chianti wineries and Panzano is a charming village with great restaurants and enotecas. Have fun.

Chrissie,
This spring I was with two nine year olds at La Crociona. It has a pool and TV in the room.

La Crociona http://www.lacrociona.com/ It is a wonderful vineyard about 3 km outside Montalcino. There are many little towns very close (within a half hour) Siena, Pienza, Montepulciano, Bagno Vignoni, Sant Antimo, Monte Oliveto Maggiore, Buonconvento, Murlo. The driving is easy and the food and wine in each town is special. If you want more information you can e-mail me at hschulte47@yahoo.com

Chrissie-
Contact Alex Palenzona at La Falconara just 1 mile outside Montepulciano. He has a beautiful view from his agriturismo. From the deck of his swim pool you could sit for hours looking over the countryside. He will help you immensely with day trips, share his travel books, and recommend restaurants with typical tuscan food where the locals eat. Alex lived in the US for a number of years so there is no language barrier. I am always on a budget when I travel and I found his prices to be very good. If he is full, he will refer you to Il Sasso, which is just down the road. We stayed there in September and it was lovely and also reasonably priced and very clean.

Thank you for that suggestion -- I read your review on the graffiti board, too.
