Will be staying in Montepulciano for four nights. We've been to Montalcino, Pienza and Sienna previously. What other town close by would be recommended for a day visit? San Gimignano, Corttona, Assisi? Somewhere else?

Within 15-20 min drive:
Monticchiello (near Pienza)
Torrita di Siena
Within 40-45 min drive:
Castiglion del Lago
Lucignano
Cortona
Within 1 hr or so drive:
Arezzo
Siena
For San Gimignano or Assisi you need at least 1.5 hours drive.
If you decide to go to San Gimignano, see if you can visit also Monteriggioni, on the way there.
