Has anyone taken the Tuscan Day Tour from Walks of Italy that leaves from Florence? It has great reviews and looks like a great day. The cost is $185 per person USD. I haven't booked a tour like this before, is that a reasonable price? It includes Lunch and wine at a vineyard and is a 10 hour tour including travel time. Small group of 18 I believe
Are there any other Tuscan day tours that anyone can recommend?
This tour is similar, but it's a coach bus so probably a larger group.
Not specific to that tour but the Walks of Italy tours, in general, get good reviews. For what you described $185 seems reasonable. I would be willing to book it if that is what I was looking for.
hey myra
how many people are doing the tour and are you set on seeing only certain areas of tuscany? it's a huge area.

Thank you all so much!! I appreciate the suggestions.
There are 6 of us. 5 who are over 18 and 1 who is 17. We don’t really have anything specific. We just want to see the beautiful country and would love to tour a vineyard and farm.
We would probably rather do a small group than a large group after reading some reviews of the large groups.
Walks of Italy has awesome reviews, but thought if there are others out there that are similar but maybe a little less, why not check those out, right?
The Best of Tuscany Tour with Walk About Tours is 90euro pp and 30euro extra if you buy the ticket for the tower of Pisa.
Myra, my personal experience with tours by Walks of Italy has been very positive. You should note:
- In the past, Walks of Italy has offered a 10% “Rick Steves discount”, so inquire about that. They have also offered senior and youth discounts, depending on the ages of your group.
- With 6 in your group, it might be more economical to book a private tour, even with Walks of Italy, or other companies or guides, rather than pay individual prices times 6.
- At least a few years ago, Walks of Italy had an excellent US-based toll-free number, staffed by US people very knowledgeable about all their tours, discounts, etc. You might call them, explain your group and preferences, and see what they can recommend and offer to you.
- People on this forum have also had glowing reports on Tours by Roberto (or very similar name), also day long Tuscany countryside and winery tours, out of Florence. Roberto is featured in some of Rick’s videos on Tuscany.
Enjoy beautiful Tuscany! Then please post a report back here.

I've jumped to his booking area so you can see a description of them. He does provide a discount if you use RS10
