Does anyone have any recommended agritruismo's in Tuscany? I see one recommendation on this site for Agriturismo Cretaiole - I am not sure this will work due to a one week minimum stay (but I will inquire). We plan to only stay 3 nights. We will be 4 couples and the other issue is transportation to-and-from. I have not ruled out renting two cars in order to get to the location but because we are such a large group, I am leaning towards finding something with more accessibility and lining up a guided tour to take us on a wine/food tour during the days. Any suggestions?
We have stay at and loved it ----
Castello Di Montegufoni (Montegufoni.eu).
It is about 20 minutes outside of Florence. The unit we stayed in was five bedrooms so it would easily fit your group. We had a car but there was a bus stop for a bus into Florence.
We spent five wonderful nights at the beautiful Terre di Nano between Montepulciano and Pienza. They have several rooms, as well as 2 and 4 bedroom houses on the property. The chef prepares dinner on request most nights. You would definitely need a car though. I know they can arrange for wine/food tours as well. It was a magical place.
Check out Agriturismo Marciano outside of Siena. It's not large, but they have enough rooms to accommodate and are pretty accessible to the main highways. ....also...good breakfast, good dinner if desired (for additional cost, as usual in agriturismos), friendly hosts, and olive grove views.
Definitely second the recommendation for Agriturismo Marciano - unbelievable meals, great hosts and a tour of their organic winery! Also, try il rigo just down the road from Cretaiole outside of Pienza - good food, great hosts and unbelievable views. We stayed in both in Late September/Early October, 2015 and were extremely pleased.
Yay! Glad to hear from someone who stayed at A. Marciano more recently!
Good luck booking 4 rooms at Agriturismo Marciano. You would have to do it well in advance. They only have 6 rooms. I stayed there in 2010 and wanted to go back last year. Even with plenty of advanced notice I couldn't get a room.
Thank you everyone for the responses. I am going to look into each of these! We still have quite a long time before the trip, so with that kind of advance, I am hoping I should be able to book four rooms. Thanks again!
Our family of 4 stayed at IL Rosolaccio near San Gimignano in apt. "ginestra"/2 bedrooms/1 bathroom. Is a lovely place with a nice swimming pool. www.rosolaccio.com Here you would probably need to rent several apartments for 8 people. We did have a car too.
Villa Arnilu near San Gimignano
Santi Terzi in San Gemini Umbria, it is right in a great little town.

Marciano and Cretaiole are excellent choices. If they do not work for you, try Borgo Argenina. Elena cooks with her guests and is a delightful host.
Check out Karen Brown's website. She has lots of information on agriturismos there. We used her information in combination with info gathered here to find options.
Another vote for Agriturismo Marciano. If you plan way ahead you might be able to secure reservations there. We stayed there for the second time last year at the end of Aug. & I made the reservation about 10 months in advance. It's a wonderful place.
