Turkish Airlines

Hopefully somebody has first hand experience of the following:

I'm taking Turkish Airlines from Seattle to Istanbul to Venice and then on return Rome to Istanbul to Seattle. All connecting flights are Turkish Airlines. The layover on the way to Italy is about 2 hours and on the way back it is about 3 hours. I'm checking luggage. Do I have to collect my luggage in Istanbul and then recheck on the way to Venice (and vice versa on the way to Seattle) or since it is Turkish Airlines (albeit different planes) the airline will automatically transfer my suitcase?

hey hey
your bags will go all the way (seattle-venice. rome-seattle). pack light, we take a little laundry soap and sink wash hang dry in room. wear comfy shoes, no new stillettos, no fancy jewels, money belt hidden in pants/around neck, always greet owner in stores/shops/bars/cafes, walk thru mercato centrale in florence, it's huge and fun to see whats there, maybe even tastings from shops
check in to hotels usually 2-4pm, drop bags & roam around

IST is modern and big, but very easy to get around. Your bags should be checked all the way to Venice and to Seattle on your return. Only in the USA and Mexico (as far I am aware) require international transiting passengers to clear passport control and claim / recheck your bags before traveling on to your next location.
