Trying to register CartaFreccia

Checked "I do not have a Tax Code", scrolled down was asked for entering "YOUR ITALIAN HOME ADDRESS". Thought if I don't need to enter Tax Code I don't have to enter Italian address. So now I still can't register for CartaFreccia? Trying to buy a train ticket. Is it possible to buy ticket without CartaFreccia?

You do not need the Carta Frecce to buy tickets. I do not have one ( but we are not seniors).

If you really want one you can use the address of your first hotel in Italy.

It is best to create an account and buy tix logged in to that, but you don’t need an address for that.

Seems all the ticket I am looking at is showing for CartaFreccia program like Economy / Standard class etc. Will the Train staff check your CartaFreccia card or they only check your ticket on the train?

That's the website I am looking at.
I am trying to book train Frecci arossa 1000 9413 from Florence to Naples on 08.23, it's 107.70 euro under Standard and Super Economy, at the bottom of this offer with Program ARROW card checked. I don't have Arrow Card, am I not able to purchase the ticket?

Also on the page to enter passengers' info, there is CartaFreccia/X-go in each passengers' contact details' box.

What ChristineH said. You have to uncheck those things. You might have to clear cookies and go back into the website.

Ok I looked at the schedule for 8/23. I do not see any Frecce train at 10 am with that number. There is a Frecciarossa train at 10:14 with number 9519.

Are you sure you are on the official Trenitalia site? Try using the link ChristineH gave you.

At least a few years ago, non residents could not get CartaFeccias online. They had to use a special form they printed out, filled out and then emailed in.

Has this changed? Part of your frustration may come from trying to do this online.

This was current as of 2023.
“Customers who are non-residents and do not have a domicile in Italy and who wish to request enrolment in the CartaFRECCIA Programme, may do so by sending an email to the email address [email protected], enclosing the completed and signed Application Form for Enrolment in the Programme for Foreign ...”

It's not an option to check or uncheck the box of CartaFreccia. when I click a box of CartaFreccia, I was asked to enter the card number because the offer is for CartaFreccia program. Actually after I entered passengers' info without entering CartaFreccia, I click the cart and there is a button of Go payment on that page, then it's directed me to the payment page.

(Sasha-the “1000” refers to the FrecciaRossa1000 not the time)

Just uncheck any selections that are checked when your search result comes up

You might try booking your tickets on the Trenitalia app-I find it very easy to use

Have you registered for an account?

I see Base Economy and Super Economy offerings in that date for that train
None of the other offerings apply to you/not eligible

How many tickets are you trying to purchase? Because I am looking for just one and don't see any priced this high. Not even Base which will always be the highest price.

Let's see if we can figure this out!

When I search for Firenze SM Novella to Napoli Centrale on Aug 23 for 1 person I see the train you are referring to-
12:48 FrecciaRossa1000 #9413.

I think that's correct up to here.

When you click on that offering a window drops down with all the various tickets- Base, Economy, Super Economy, FrecciaYoung, FrecciaSenior.
Forget those last 2 as you are not eligible,.

The SuperEconomy offer is ticked or highlighted because the system is telling you that is your best offer.
The little green circle below with a check in it next to "Program CartaFreccia" is just indicating that you could use your CartaFreccia with this discount (does not apply to you since you do not have a CartaFreccia card)

You don't have to uncheck this selection. Just check another.

Make sense so far?

Choose whichever ticket you like- from Base, Economy or SuperEconomy (click the little i in a circle to read what each ticket means as far as changes/refunds, etc.

The prices I am seeing are as follows:
Standard
Base 76 euros
Economy 58.90 euros
Supeconomy 35.90 euros. (No changes or refunds!)

I think what is throwing you off is that green check next to CartaFreccia.

I took a look at this and was about to explain, but I see Christine has already done a great job.

That green check mark for the “Carta Frecce” just means that ticket is eligible for the program, as far as points and discounts. If you do not have the card, you don’t get the benefits, but you can still get that price category.

You can confirm this is correct because (a) you cannot “uncheck” the Carta Frecce tic, (b) the same green check mark appears automatically if you look at other. Fare types—-Economy, Base, etc. In other words, no matter what kind of fare class you choose, that green check mark will show up. Further, when you go to check out, the field for entering the Carta Frecce card number is not mandatory. You can proceed to purchase without it, as the OP has discovered.

The price quoted by jathaca, 107.70 euros, is 3 times 35.90 euros Supereconomy. OP, are you trying to book for 3 people?

yes, 107.70 euros are for three of us. I tried to book online last night, after I submit the payment on the last step skipped to the next page, the message of "nothing in your cart" popped-up. Haven't received any confirmation emails and my card got already charged.

update:
Finally the transaction of payment was gone through and got our tickets. What I did was changed browser from Chrome to Edge and changed email from hotmail to gmail because "the email was not matched" popped up for some reason. Found coupon code MARE24 and got 20% off.
