Trying to book Duomo tickets, I have a question.

I went to their official website and chose a date and time to climb the Duomo for whoever decides to do it. I chose 4:30. But as I’m checking out, it looks like I only have 45 minutes to do the climb. It says 16:30 - 17:15. Or does that means you can enter anytime within that period?

The link didn’t take to that particular page, sorry.

This is the dome, right?
I can tell you for sure that it doesn't mean you can enter anytime within that period. From the website:

https://operaduomofirenze.skiperformance.com/en/store#/en/buy

"The start time of the visit is the one selected at the time of purchase and shown on the Ticket. Punctuality is required to allow all visitors the best experience. 5 minutes in advance and 5 minutes of delay are allowed, compared to the starting time of the visit."

Another page also states that...
"IT IS FORBIDDEN TO STAY OR STOP TEMPORARILY IN THE FOLLOWING PLACES:
connecting stairs, both uphill and downhill; in the sections: from the "Porta della "Mandorla" entrance to the first balcony, including the balcony; between the aforementioned balcony and the panoramic terrace; from the second balcony, included, to the "Porta dei Canonici" exit."

https://duomo.firenze.it/en/discover/dome

So, I guess doodling along is discouraged, although I don't think they shoo you off the panoramic terrace after so many minutes.
Anyone? Do I have this right?

When I go to choose my time, it gives that option 16:30 - 17:15. All the other options are in 45 minute increments also.

Maybe you choose that increment, then they sign an exact time? Is that start time when you start climbing, or when you get to go out on the terrace? I would imagine it’s when you start climbing,

The way I read it, if you choose 16:30 - 17:15, you need to be there between 16:25 and 16:35 to check in for the climb. No earlier or later.

my research indicates you can spend as much time as you want up in the dome, i believe the entry time is just to go up, though i would go up at the start of my entry, don't forget if you get the 72 hour ticket, this entry time will be important

When you purchase the combo ticket is states that they are valid for three calendar days, but it appears to require you to schedule your dome climb as the OP describes. It does not, however, give you the option of choosing a date within the three calendar days to do the dome climb so I assume you have to do that on the first day of your three day pass??

vfinn, editing my last post as there is indeed a brand-new 3-day combo pass! They must have added this very recently, and it was hiding on this page....

https://operaduomofirenze.skiperformance.com/en/store#/en/buy

... down in the dark blue box at the bottom of the page, and in the menu right under the pix of the painting. Clicking "Tickets from March 1, 2022" brings up the page with that option, although it doesn't seem to have a separate URL I can include a link to (or not yet, anyway).

This is GREAT; glad to see that they've brought this option back, and thanks for bringing it up!
There is more info on these passes on the FAQ page:

Lifting this text from the "NEW TICKETS FROM 1ST MARCH 2022. HOW DO THEY WORK?" section, it does appear like you have to book your dome climb slot for the first day of the 3-day pass validity.

"... it is valid for 3 calendar days from the date of the visit booked during the purchase phase (eg. I purchase the climb to the Dome for 1 January at 11:15 am, the ticket will be valid on 1, 2, 3 January)".

Clear as mud? 😉
Additionally, there are two other combo passes available on that page, one with everything but the dome climb (Giotto Pass), and one without the dome and the belltower (Ghiberti Pass). Lulu, take a look????
