We a planning to be in Italy the end of September/beginning of October. Does anyone have experience with going on a truffle hunt? If so, how did you arrange it? We are not interested in a several day cooking class that includes the truffle hunt. Just maybe a cooking class for a lunch that same day. Something not too expensive, preferably in Umbria. Thanks!

I don't think there is an inexpensive version of a truffle hunt! You may want to check this site out: http://www.italysfinest.com I think they were offering a truffle hunt experience - may want to email them.

Thanks for the reply Anthony. I will check out that site. I realize that truffle hunting tours are not inexpensive, I just am not interested in a several day package that includes other activities that I am not interested in!
