I cannot get my credit cards to work. My apartment rental agent in Venice cannot charge my card, but the card company says they aren't even seeing the charge much less turning it down. I also can't charge through TrenItalia, even though registered with TrenItalia and verified by Visa. I've tried two different cards with the same result. It looks like the charge is being denied from Italy's servers to the USA servers. Has anyone knowledge of this? Besides the problem now with not being able to make reservations, I am concerned that we will not be able to use our cards in Italy. We are getting despearte. Thanks.

Many have trouble with the Trenitalia web site, for train tickets its just as easy to buy them once you are in Italy. It appears that the Trenitalia site just doesn't like US credit cards although a few people have gotten it to work for them. I have not had the same problem with reservations, made a deposit for our upcoming trip a few months ago and just used our credit card on VeniceConnect a couple of days ago to pre-puchase vaporetto passes. Maybe call your credit card company and ask for advice from them to get the reservation deposit made??
