We want a night in Milan to see the last Supper before training to Venice. I can't find a moderately priced hotel with good reviews. I have tried the recommendations in books like RS but all the reviews are really NEGATIVE. HELP!!!!!!

Have you tried Venere:
I've used them a few times and found the site really good, and some times they have rooms when other sites show the hotel as sold out.

Of the 7 last europe trips I have made I have mostly used Rick lodging recommendations. They have been fabulous except for one in Wales and accurate to his descriptions. No other guidebk that I have used in 35 yrs of travel has been that right on. Trust Rick not necessarily what you read on reviews. In Milan I stayed at The Best Hotel, yes that is the name. it is well priced and easily walked or taxi from Train station prob 2 star rating. just google hotel name. good luck on your search.
