Trouble buying Paestum tickets

Hi Everyone,

I have been trying for a week, on multiple different computers to access the link to buy skip the line tickets for Paestum Archaeological Park. I don't want a tour through an outside provider, just simple entry tickets. The link seems to be broken. Can someone else confirm that this is their experience as well? If not, what am I doing wrong? I have paused my VPN, etc. I have been able to buy similar tickets for Herculaneum, Pompeii etc, so I see no reason that Paestum should be inaccessible.

Thanks all!

We visited Paestum in June 2019. We just walked in. There was no line. It took us one minute to purchase tickets. Paestum is not high on the list of most travelers and shouldn't be super busy. I suspect even though this was in 2019, you would still not encounter a line in 2025. Do you have to purchase tickets in advance now? If not, just walk up.

That is the link I was trying. Thanks for checking...now I feel confident that it's not me, it's the link. I was also thinking that Paestum might be okay to not purchase ahead, especially since we will be there in April, which is just the opening of the "season" in that part of Italy.

Thanks again for all the help.

To echo the above, we were there in June 2022 and purchased tickets on-site, without any wait. We were in a rental car and had no problems parking either; although as I recall we had to pay an attendant in cash - no machines.

Likewise, in April 2024, we just walked up and got tix on site.

On a different note, the Tenuta Vannulo buffalo cheese farm is about 4 miles away and did involve getting tix on-line in advance. https://www.tenutavannulo.com/ And you need to get there on time.

You didn’t ask, but it’s so close and makes a nice combo. We did the farm first since tours were only in the morning. Then Paestum.

(We did those by car. We had rented a car for just 3 of our 30 days in Italy - to travel from Lecce to Matera and then through the Cilento to Naples.)

I was able to access the link at 10:00 PM Pacifuc time - so as I suspected, it's similar to the websites for other tourist sites in Italy, which are only available during Italian business hours. So depending on you time zone, try accessing the link early in the morning if on Eastern time, or late in the evening on Pacific time.

Here is the link to the ticketing site, which is a third party - VivaTicket - there's a chance it may be accessible at all hours:

https://www.vivaticket.com/it/ticket/parco-archeologico-di-paestum-velia-durata-3-giorni/171405?culture=en-gb

Here are the instructions for buying tickets from the Park's website:

ONLINE SHOPPING GUIDE
To buy online the entrance ticket to the Archaeological Park of Paestum and Velia:
GO ON VIVATICKET
Before starting the purchase procedure, log in or register on the Vivaticket website.

Choose “Subscription” by clicking “Buy” and follow the payment procedure.

At the top right there is the search bar: in this space type “Paestum”, here a dropdown opens which allows you to choose between an annual ticket and the daily ticket (choose “Archaeological Park of Paestum and Velia”) valid for 3 days that allows you to visit the Park of Paestum and Velia;

By selecting the option “Archaeological Park of Paestum and Velia” there is the possibility to choose between the full-reduced ticket or family ticket and also the time slot for booking the visit in the two archaeological sites.

With the purchase receipt you can enter into the Park without passing again from the ticket office.
