Trouble buying online coliseum tickets from official site

I have been trying for a few days to buy tickets online at the official site for May 41, 2022. Are they sold out or is it too early? Thanks for your help in advance

I also could not buy directly from the Colleseum website. Would not allow past April 25 or so. As we are going to be there May 1, I booked with a ticket agent. Rome Museums, they took my credit card and gave me a confirmation nbr with an email saying they will confirm 15 days ahead of my booked date. Hope it’s a go!

I don't think anyone could buy a ticket for May 41! I am assuming you mean May 14th? When I look at the site it doesn't appear that May tickets are for sale quite yet. They show availability through the end of April.

When I bought them, they went on sale exactly 30 days in advance. And the underground tickets sold out quickly (fyi, in case that's what you want).

It's too early.

In short, you have no ticket. You have paid for a third party to check the official site on your behalf and try to get the tickets you want. Nobody can sell tickets before the official site.

Definitely too early. Tickets through the official site, coopculture, open up only 30 days in advance. Tickets are for timed entry and sell out fast, so stay on it.

and sell out fast

The general admission tickets do not sell out fast. Not always. I have just checked on coopculture: There are available tickets for March 30 at 13:55. Yes, in 20 minutes.

Of course today is a Wednesday in March and it's raining all over Italy. In late July you wouldn't find tickets to enter the Colosseum within 20 minutes, but maybe within a couple of days. Or weeks.

It's the tickets for the Underground areas that sell out fast throughout the year, to the point that it's almost impossible to get a ticket if you miss the day of release.

Echoing Dario here. It's easy to see how far out tickets are available: just click the "check availability" bar on the page of the ticket option you're looking for. As he said, the € 18.00 timed-entry tickets for the Colosseum Forum and Palatine (no underground/no tour) are available through April 29, and PLENTY are still available, even for time slots TODAY. Coopculture appears to be releasing tickets on a rolling, 30-day schedule.

Days that still have open time slots will be color-blocked in green; if tickets are sold out, they'll be colori-blocked in pink; days tickets are not available yet are blocked in gray.

The two economical coopculture tours which access the underground are probably the hottest tickets in Rome, and they do sell out for high season within minutes of becoming available. They are:

FULL EXPERIENCE TICKET WITH ACCESS TO THE ARENA AND UNDERGROUND OF THE COLOSSEUM: € 24.00
This includes accompanied access to the arena, and also the underground (no one can access that area independently) but no educational commentary.

THE WONDERS OF THE COLOSSEUM: VISITING THE UNDERGROUND AND THE ARENA, English tour: €34.00
This is a guided tour with educational commentary.

The calendars both today show that with the rare of exception of a few singles still available for a few random dates, they're sold out thru April 29th; same rolling 30-day schedule. Tickets CAN become available again if some sales transactions don't go through or people cancel but it's less frequent versus more.

Apologies for the long explanation but it's for anyone else browsing the forum for Colosseum ticketing info; questions tend to be frequent! Coopculture can also change their sales procedures on a dime - they've done so in the past - so stay on top of the website if wanting to land their most popular tickets. If the underground is a MUST for you and you can't obtain the Coopculture tickets, there are independent companies which offer tours which include that section, albeit for a higher price, so you can try one of those. That is assuming even those parties have been able to land tickets. If you need recommendations of quality resources from RS posters who've used them, then just ask. :O)

In regards to Dario - I guess I paid for someone else to do the legwork? So to speak..as long as I get tickets on my dates I’m fine with that. Having a tight schedule here at home , if someone can do the checking for me, that’s fine. Hope it all goes well for us 😬

In case you couldn't get the ticket via coopculture - I just did the Colosseum and Underground tour (no S.U.P.E.R sites incl unfortunately) via Walks of Italy on 3/30. I tried previously for several weeks (within the 30 day time period) to purchase the tix directly from coopculture, but no joy + I had no time/patience to keep checking. So I decided to go with the tour from Walk of Italy. The tour was fantastic. I had 2 tour guides: 1 Official guide from the Colosseum - who did the Colosseum underground & arena part, 1 from Walk who did the rest (more of the arena, Colosseum at large, Palatine Hills, and Roman Forum). The tour was close to 4 hours and $$$, but definitely worth every dollar/euro! Will definitely go back on my own to visit the S.U.P.E.R sites, though.
