We have 9 days in italy this june. We think we will stay 3 nights in dolomite area then travel to venice and Florence. Would you stay 2 nights in Venice and 4 in Florence or 3 in each????
I would spend 3 nights in each city.
3 in eachI'm curious about why the Dolomites, I assume this is not a first trip to Italy for you?
My husband and I are meeting friends in Venice but arrive in Milan several days earlier and thought we would drive to bolzano and castlerotto. We love the Alps and thought it would be beautiful. Have you been there? What do you think? I have been to Bolzano and thought the area was beautiful.
I'm really worried about the rest of our trip. Originally, we planned 2 nights in venice, 2 nights in Florence and 2 nights in Portofino to celebrate our friend's birthday. BUT, I think we will be in a train too much and not see enought. So we are trying to decide how many days in venice and florence. We could take a day trip out of florence easier than venice. What do you think?
Depending on your interest you could see Hill Towns near Florence quite readily on a daytrip. You could also leave Venice and train to the towns nearby in the Veneto. You could easily fill your time in either one. Do you plan to have a car in Florence? Hill Towns are more accessible that way. Venice offers the allure of the islands as well with no need (or possibility) of a car. Such a wonderful quandry to be in:)
