We have flights booke from Chicago to Venice and Milan to Chicago. We would like to visit Tuscany and Cinque Terre. Any help in planning our trip would be appreciated.

You need to get a guide book to figure out what you want to see. We can only help you if you let us know your interests. A guide book will help you decide what is important to you. You also need to say how many days you'll be in Italy. Donna

In order to help you, you'll have to help us. 1. What are your flight days? This will tell us how many days you on the ground, not counting departure and arrival days, as well as what time of year you are going. 2. You say your interest is Tuscany and the Cinque Terre, but you booked flights into and out of cities not as near these places as some alternatives (Florence, Pisa, Bologna, or Genoa are all closer airports). Did you want to see something in or near Venice and/or Milan, or just Tuscany and the Cinque Terre? 3. What did you want out of this trip? If you're not sure, think of it this way: you spent a lot of money booking flights to Italy for a reason. What was it? When you say "Tuscany," what does this connote to you - scenic vistas, wines, hill towns, or something else? 4. Who is "we"? If going with children, how old are they, and what are their interests? 5. Where have you been in Italy before? Where have you been in Europe before? Are there any experiences you are looking to repeat - or avoid repeating?
6. Were you planning to rent a car, not planning to rent a car, or open to either option? With this information (and anything else specific that you can add), others can give you useful answers. In addition to all this, I strongly recommend you get a copy of Rick Steves Italy as soon as possible. In addition to lots of ideas about what to see and do, he will have all the logistical information about hotels, transportation, meals, etc that you will need.

Tricia, I agree with Harold. More specific information on your trip would be a BIG help! Cheers!

We are good but cannot guess at when you are going or how long you are staying. You can best plan YOUR trip by going to your local library and checking out guidebooks and DVDs related to those areas. You have to do you own homework.
