Trip to Italy and Cote D'Azur

My friend and I are planning a tip to Italy and Cote D'Azur. We sketched an itenerary. First few days of the trip will be hectic but the rest,i believe will be relaxed. I would appreciate suggestions and comments on our itenerary.
Thanks.

Day1: Arrival in Milan by midday. Fly to Rome.
Day 2: All day Rome
Day 3: Rome and Ostia Antica. Train to Florence.
Day 4: All day Florence
Day 6: Day trip to Siena
Day 7: Day trip to Cinque Terre.
Day 8: Early train to Genoa. Rent a car. Drive to Nice. A few stops on the way.
Day 9: Day trip to Cannes and Monte Carlo.
Day 10: Day trips along Cote d’azur. (Maybe Marseiiles?)
Day 11: Early drive to Milan. A few hours in town. Evening flight back home.

Go directly to Rome,

The rest of your trip through France seems backwards geographically.

Drop a few day trips.

Just suggestions...

I assume you'll stay in Cinque Terre for the night of "Day 7." Genoa is just north of Cinque Terre, and along the same train line.

Thanks for all the feedback..
Can we do Cinque Terre in one day, without staying the night? I was thinking of going back to Florence...
