We are planning on a 3 week trip to Calabria, Italy and having never been in that part of Italy would like to know others who have been and what would be the highlights they recommend. We will be driving and booking hotels not Airbnb as we usually do. We also like to book local tour guides wherever we are for history tours, food tours, etc. We have found Get Your Guide a good source. We did this style of trip in 2023 and drove all the way around Sardinia with a few days in Corsica. It was fabulous!! The food, the boat trips, the beaches, the towns, the history the wine and definitely the people! Incredible. Would love to hear from you.

We have done 2 car trips in Calabria. We especially enjoyed staying in Cirella. The Hotel Ducale there had a wonderful location. Several rooms have ocean views. Great breakfast buffet on the deck. I used WhatsApp to book the rooms we wanted. We also enjoyed Tropea with its great views and restaurants. A relaxing day at the free natural hot spring near Lamezia Terme. Wish we’d made it to Reggio Calabria. Are you amaro drinkers? A highlight for us was going for a tasting at the Jefferson anaro distillery neae Cosenza.
